How do you clean double glazing?
Well it is common sense that, once you have had your double glazing installed, you are aware of the best way to keep it clean. Of course you could always hire a window cleaner to clean your windows for you, but it is just as easy, and money saving, to clean them yourself. One key point, is to make sure that you clean the window frames last, to help prevent spreading any dirt.
Right, the first thing you need to do is make a good cleaning mixture and the best way to do this is very simple. We recommend that you use 1 ½ cups of white vinegar and add it to 1 gallon of water and mix. Alternatively you can use 1 tablespoon of mild soap and add to 1 gallon of water and mix. Next you will need a microfiber cloth, as these give the best results in window cleaning.
Now, starting at the top of the window, work your way down, making sure to rinse the cloth while you are cleaning. Once the window is well soaped, take a new cloth and some clean warm water. Now, put the cloth in the water and wash off the soap from the window. Lastly, you will need to take a dry cloth and dry the window going from one side to the other and only working in one direction so not to smear the glass. Alternatively you could always use a squeegee but still make sure you only work in one direction. Once the window is dry, you are done. It’s as simple as that.
