How double glazing benefits your home
There is no denying that double glazing benefits your home, keeping the heat in and the cold out in the winter and also helps to keep your home cooler in the summer. One key aspect of double glazing is the fact that it is made with two panes of glass, which contains a trapped layer of air between them. While the glass does help with the prevention of heat movement, it is in fact the air pocket which is actually the main insulator. All of this helps to save on the cost of heating and cooling your home.
Another key reason to having double glazing, is the fact that it uses laminated or toughened glass, which is much more difficult to break. This will add as a deterrent against any potential burglars, as it will take much longer to break the sturdier glass. Double glazing windows also have a much more complex locking mechanism and, -as a result, your home becomes much safer.
Double glazing also prevents condensation that can often occur on windows. This is because the inner pane of glass is kept much closer to the temperature of the room and in turn prevents the air that is inside the room from reaching its dew point. As a result, this stops the air from condensing into water, preventing condensation on you windows.
